In this role you will be writing your thesis within the Electrification Business Area in Baden-Dättwil.

Your responsibilities

  • Exploration of current challenges in finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) when applied to converter systems.
  • Review of academic literature on FCS-MPC
  • Design, evaluation and documentation of novel constraints in FCS-MPC
  • Quick prototyping of solutions through proof-of-concept implementations

Your background

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or similar field; enrollment to 5th semester or higher is essential
  • Interest in at least two of the following fields: power electronics, control theory, optimization, mathematical modelling.
  • Courses in optimization, control systems, and model predictive control are essential
  • A good working knowledge of MATLAB or Python are required
  • Experience with real-time simulators, basic understanding of power systems are desirable
  • Proficiency in English
